Approved by the Anhui Provincial Government and registered in the Ministry of Education, Anhui Foreign Languages College has been officially brought into the national enrollment system of higher education. It belongs to the first enrolled group of junior college. In conformity with the globalization, especially after China's access to WTO, the establishment of the college is to meet the ever-increasing demand for the talents in the field of economy, trade, finance, etc. to change the situation in which there is no college specializing in foreign languages teaching in Anhui since the founding of the PRC.

    Anhui Foreign Languages College is located in the beautiful national forest park-Zipeng Mountain, which is on the outskirts of Hefei City with convenient transportation, only thirty minutes' ride to the downtown area. Adhering to the founding principles of "High Profile, High Starting Point, Characterization and Internationalization", the college has invested a huge sum of money on the advanced teaching facilities such as the advanced digitalized language labs, multi-media classrooms, foreign films theatre, FM radio transmitter, computers, E-reading rooms, satellite TV receiving system, Lecture-Hall and Modernized Library.     Anhui Foreign Languages College is designed to bring up "the foreign-oriented white collar workers", and to cultivate applied and skilled talents who can not only be proficient in foreign languages, but also have a business mind in foreign trade. At present, the college consists of The Occidental Languages Dept., The Oriental Languages Dept., International Economical Dept., International Commerce Dept. and International Tourism Dept., offering 25 hot specialities concerning foreign languages in modern society. Concerning the setting-up of those specialities, experts have unanimously agreed that accurate market orientation, special features and increasing job-market demand offer the great and bright employment chances for the graduates. The college pays close attention to the students' present-day studies and their further education. An Employment Assistance Center has been founded for the students' employment. Furthermore, an intimate contract has been maintained with HR department and enterprises from Hefei, Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou,etc. All of them have paved the way for the smooth employment of the graduates.
